A criminal record can have a significant negative impact on your life. A conviction, unfortunately, follows you everywhere, but a conviction does not tell a person’s whole story. Jennifer has offered to share her story to help others change the direction of their lives by putting their past behind them and moving on to bigger and better things.

Jennifer grew up just getting by in life, never having enough money for anything other than the food she ate and the shelter she lived in. Jennifer suffered abuse in past relationships and never felt that she deserved any better. However, Jennifer’s life changed dramatically when she had children. She wanted to be able to give them more than she had, but she had limited means to provide. Jennifer’s financial situation had not changed when she had her two children. The father of Jennifer’s children was in jail and she was living off social assistance. She only had enough money to feed and shelter her children, her children were stuck in the same situation she had been in growing up–the guilt of not being able to provide for her family was getting worse day-by-day.

Eventually, the feeling of not being able to provide warm winter clothes, a nice clean pair of shoes, or even a Christmas present got to Jennifer and she became extremely tempted to steal. One day she went to the mall with her kids, around Christmas time, and the temptation became too great for Jennifer. She decided to steal a jacket and a toy for her children, she was caught on her way out. Jennifer was charged with theft.

This conviction was a wakeup call for Jennifer, she decided she needed to get her life in order for her family. Jennifer started reconnecting with family members and even found herself in a committed non-abusive relationship. Jennifer’s situation started looking up and she was even able to take a course in social work. However, all of Jennifer’s progress came to a halt when she could not find a job in social work because of her criminal record.

Once again Jennifer found herself in a bad situation where she had the opportunity to steal, but this time she fought her temptation and decided enough was enough. Jennifer felt that she had paid for her mistakes and that it was time to put her past behind her by applying for a record suspension. After a lot of research about the best way to apply for a record suspension, she contacted us at AllCleared to do her record suspension in order for her to have the best possible outcome.
