Whether Pardon Services Canada is helping clients with a record suspension so they can get bonded for employment, or compiling a travel waiver for someone with a past criminal record, the documents we deal with are highly confidential.  Pardon Services Canada honours your trust and so we are open about our file maintenance and destruction process. All client files and documents are kept confidential and secure on site. Once we closed your file, we do not simply throw your documents into the trash.  We put all your sensitive documents into special bins and then they are safely destroyed by our trusted shredding company under our supervision.

“It’s our responsibility to our clients to protect their privacy by destroying documents that contain personal information” said Azmairnin Jadavji, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pardon Services Canada. He goes on to say that, “Destroying client documents prevents sensitive information from getting into the hands of identity thieves.”

An estimated 11,095 million people, representing 7 percent of the population age 16 or older in Canada, experienced at least one incident of identity theft in 2012, according to the most recent data available from Statistics Canada. This makes identity theft the fastest growing non-violent crime in North- America.

The Department of Justice Canada considers identity theft to be the attempted or successful misuse of an existing account, such as a debit or credit card account, the misuse of personal information to open a new account, or the misuse of personal information for other fraudulent purposes, such as obtaining government benefits or providing false information to police during a crime or traffic stop. According to Statistics Canada findings, financial losses due to personal identity theft totaled $8 billion in 2012. They also report that 71 percent of Canadians are “ very or somewhat concerned” about becoming a victim of identity theft, and a further 20 percent know someone who has been affected, bringing the total percentage of Canadians that have been affected by identity theft (whether directly or indirectly) to 24 percent.

Pardon Services Canada prevents any misuse of your confidential information by ensuring that your documents are shredded beyond any possible reconstruction.
